Roberta Francis, D.V.M

 Dr. Francis and Dee DeeDr. Roberta Francis is the owner of the Francis Veterinary Hospital. A native of Buffalo, Wyoming, she attended Casper Junior College in Casper, Wyoming. Then she transferred to Colorado State University and in 1974 she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine.

After Graduation she worked on year in Connecticut and then traveled to California to find a job. On her way home from California she stopped to see her sister and brother-in-law who were living in Golden. The Golden Animal Hospital was looking to hire someone, so she applied and started work. In 1979 she decided to start her own office. The first clinic was in a shopping center, but in 1985, Roberta and her husband, Bill, built the new office.

Dr. Francis is a member of the American Veterinary Association, Colorado Veterinary Association, Wyoming Veterinary Association, Denver Area Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. Last year Dr. Francis purchased an ultrasound. She has been taking technical classes so she can become certified to do ultrasounds.

Plants are her second love after animals. Many of the plants in the office are very old, dating back to 1975, and some have come from clients over the years.

In her free time, Dr. Francis enjoys gardening and is a bicyclist. She has competed each year since 2001 in the MS 150 bike tour, which is 150 miles in 2 days. Her family includes her husband Bill; two grown sons, Richard and Jack.  Her beloved dog Dee Dee just recently passed away

Mona Fasth, D.V.M.
Dr. Fasth graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She has been an associate veterinarian at Francis Veterinary Hospital since graduation. She is a Colorado native having lived in the Golden area most of her life.

She is dedicated to the human-animal bond, good medicine and client education.

Her hobbies and interests include showing/ breeding Doberman Pinschers, where she has bred over 50 champions. Dr. Fasth also participates in horse-cattle competitions, ranch sorting and team penning. 

Recently, at the end of 2011, Dr Fasth commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army Veterinary Corps Reserves.

Annie Yager CVT
Annie was born and raised in north central Missouri. She worked for 12 years for Walsworth Publishing Company in the school yearbook division. After moving to Colorado in 2003, she attended Bel-Rae Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado and graduated June 2005 with an Associated Degree in applied science. She passed the state board to become a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2005. Annie has been employed with the Francis Veterinary Hospital since her graduation.

Annie's family includes in husband George, two dogs, Frito and Tori and one cat, Harry. Her hobbies include cooking, bowling, embroidery and reading.

Ashlynn McCarville
Ashlynn is a sophmore at the University of Northern Colorado. She is studying music education. Ashlynn comes back to help during her school breaks. Her hobby is music: the cello, piano, and bass guitar. She also helps her mom with their small zoo, which includes 4 horses, 2 goats, 4 dogs, and 3 cats.

Anne Marie Kier
Anne Marie Kier does all the art projects at the office. She grew up in Denver and graduated from the University of Denver with a BFA degree in electronics media art and design. Anne Marie has always had a passion for animals and art. Besides working for Dr. Francis, she is a freelance artist. A major inspiration to her art is the animal world, especially birds.She is eager to do any pet portraits for clients. Her family includes her husband Jason, Erroll the Senegal parrot, Errebus the African-pied crow,  Ni the cat, and her dog Domino.

Alice Kier
Alice was born in Colorado and loves living here. She started working at the office in March. She has lots of energy and it is great that she has joined the staff. Alice loves animals and believes that pets teach us the true value in life and without pets we could not survive.

Danielle Palmer
Danielle is a Colorado native, growing up in Granby, Colorado. She loves music, playing guitar and piano, and also collects antiques, insects and plants. Danielle is a great addition to the staff.
